Nexus 5 coming to T-Mobile November 14 for $100 more than Google Play

If you aren’t interested in buying a Nexus 5 directly from Google, you’ll be able to pick one up from T-Mobile starting next week. The carrier will offer the 16GB version of the device starting November 14 for $41.99 down, followed by 24 monthly payments of $17.

That’s actually a bit sooner than we had heard, which said T-Mobile would launch the phone on November 20. That still seems to be somewhat accurate, though, as that is the day the Nexus 5 will become available in T-Mobile stores. Before that the device will be available online only.

Interestingly, the 16GB Nexus 5 will cost $449.99 once you’ve paid it off on T-Mobile. That’s $100 more than if you buy it directly from Google. Sprint has the phone listed for $449.99 as well, though you can pick one up for $49.99 on-contract if you’re a new customer.

$449.99 is still a decent price for an unsubsidized phone, but you can save yourself some money by buying the Nexus 5 from Google Play and using your T-Mobile SIM card – as long as you’re willing to endure the estimated 4 to 5 week wait time. If you aren’t, and you’re willing to pay the $100 premium, you should be able to score one at T-Mobile next week.
